Environmental Standards.

As manufacturers and importers of a wide range of flooring, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously. We work under a number of national and international laws and initiatives, and we are constantly looking for ways to ensure we have a positive impact on the environment.

We are actively investigating offsetting our carbon emissions with a dedicated tree-planting enterprise, thereby making a constructive impact on the global environment.

Manufacturing processes.

Our carpet manufacturing facility and processes operate to strict standards and a zero-waste policy. Nothing goes to landfill: everything from our manufacturing process is recycled. That includes even the waste carpet scraps, which we send to racehorse training stables for use in exercise areas.

We are always looking for ways to make our production processes more sustainable and are committed to our local environment.

Sustainable sourcing.

Sourced from verified sustainable suppliers in Europe, our real wood flooring meets the tough requirements set out by law in the UK Timber Regulation (UKTR – formerly the EUTR), a requirement for importing wood. This legislation requires a due diligence process that includes:

  • Full description of the supply chain, including country of origin, species, and compliance with national legislation.
  • Evaluating the risk of illegal timber entering the supply chain.
  • Mitigating the risks of sourcing illegal timber by collecting all relevant documentation from the supplier.
  • Regularly audit the process to ensure continued compliance.

We are members of the UK Timber Trade Federation and are working with BREEEM, the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for the built environment to ensure that flooring supplied to commercial projects meets the required standards.

Certifications and accreditations.

Our vinyl and LVT products are manufactured in line with a commitment to the environment. Our partner manufacturers operate from facilities that have achieved ISO 14001 eco-achievement accreditation. This includes power from wind turbines, a closed-loop water cooling system, and a phasing out of more than 80% of systems that use freon refrigerants.

In addition, up to 50% of the materials used to make this flooring are made with recycled materials, and the flooring has been awarded the Recovinyl Plus label by the EuCertPlast system. Used vinyl is separated and recycled, with the PVC paste being reintroduced to the manufacturing system.

Both our 8mm and 12mm laminate flooring have Blue Angel certification. This is a German-based ecolabel that applies to environmentally friendly products and is a globally recognised certification for sustainable consumption. We also work to CARB Phase 2 – the national standard in the USA for composite wood products
